About Rivel Pixels

My name is Alastair and I am a freelance WordPress website designer. I run River Pixels, from my office near Exeter, Devon. I have been coding for over 10 years and I have specialised in building WordPress websites in the past few years. I am passionate about creating beautiful, functional, easy to use websites and WordPress provides the perfect platform for this. I love finding new and interesting ways of using WordPress and incorporating that into my work.

I pride myself in offering a personal and professional approach, really listening to my client’s needs to fully understand their requirements and deliver a site they are both happy with and works for them. I will speak to you in a language you can understand, so even if you are not technical you will still be able to understand. I aim to get back to my clients within 24 hours and am always at the end of the phone if needed.

Please get in touch if you would like to talk about creating a WordPress website, I would love to hear from you.

Our Values

What to expect when building a website with River Pixels.

We will talk to you about the purpose of your site, your target audience and what you require from your new site. In order to get a clear idea of your needs and expectations.
Based on the outcome of the Requirements Discovery stage, we provide you a set of recommendations, a quote and timescales for building your website. A mock-up of the website design will be provided, discussed with you and amended as required.

Build Phase

Once the design has been agreed, the website build will commence. Whilst the site is being built, we will have regular catch ups, to ensure you are up to speed with the process of the site. The site will be fully tested and optimised for various devices.

Website Review

Before handover, you will be taken through the various pages / features of the website and feedback can be given. During the review stage, if it is required, further revisions can be made to the site. This ensures you are happy with the site and it’s direction. This stage is key in delivering a website you are both happy with and fits your needs.

Ongoing Support

If you don’t feel confident updating the site yourself, or simply don’t have the time, ongoing support can be provided. All plugins will be kept up to date, WordPress updated for security and Malware threats scanned for.
So you can be happy in the security of your site.

Common Questions

How Long Will It Take To Build?

Every client and their needs are different as is each website, therefore providing a timescale without fully understanding your requirements is difficult. To give you an idea on length, a typical 3 page site would take around 2 weeks from first contact to implementation.

Do I Need A Website?

If you don’t have a website, you will be missing out a large potential audience. With over 80% of the world online and shopping trends shifting online, you could be missing out on a large amount of revenue.

How Many Pages Will I Need?

We will be happy to talk you through how many pages you will need, but at this stage it’s best to find out exactly what you need to convey to your clients before talking page numbers, as we may be able to cut down by combining pages together. Most e-commerce sites have many pages, due to multiple product lines, where as a site for an event will require far less.
Again, speak to us and we can work out your exact needs.
